2 Months (Meets Twice per Week)

Pre-AP® addresses conceptual, technical, and critical thinking skills can support student success in the AP Art and Design program. This course focuses on refining a students’ drawing and visual communication skills through mark-making, line, surface, space, light and shade, and composition, while experimenting with various mediums including pencil, watercolor, acrylic, ink, collage, scratchboard, and pastels. Our experienced instructors provide excellent guidance and critique with each student individually. Consequently, no matter the skill level of the student, each student will progress at his or her own appropriate pace.

 

OBJECTIVES:

  • Drawing Techniques using a Variety of Media
  • Create work for the AP Art & Design or Drawing portfolio
  • Develop Ideas through Experimentation, Revision, and Refinement
  • Visualize Concepts using Reference Materials
  • Incorporate digital media into artwork.

ART SUPPLIES:

Once registered, we will give you a basic art supply list such as pencils, drawing pad, sketchbook, acrylic paint, brushes, colored pencils, and paint pad.
