AP Kick-Off Summer Course (AP Art and Design Kick off Class)

Summer Schedule

Summer 1: July 5 to August 5

Summer 2: August 6 to Sep 6

 

Weeks (Class Meets Once a Week)

One Time Payment: $350 ( twice a week for 499 will be better)

Choose either Summer 1 or 2, working in any media on the AP portfolio. Certified College Board Score raters and college professors will help students kick-start  their Art sustained investigation and theme for the year and complete some of the 15 required works.

This course has a two-fold goal to have students tap into their intuitive, spontaneous creative side while at the same time, hone their basic drawing/painting skills.  This will be accomplished through a variety of projects designed to guide and encourage experimentation so students will trust their abilities, leading them to find their artistic voice and be on a fast track to start their AP art sustained investigation portfolio section for next year.

 

OBJECTIVES: 

  1. Developing Creativity and Student Voice
  2. Enhance ability to think “Outside the Box”
  3. Increase observational drawing skills
  4. Discover their AP Art Sustained Investigation theme.

 

ART SUPPLIES:

Once registered, we will give you a basic art supply list such as pencils, drawing pad, sketchbook, acrylic paint, brushes, colored pencils, and paint pad.

Photoshop Basics Class

 

4 Weeks (Class Meets Once a Week)

One Time Payment: $350 ( Twice a week 450)

Using iArt’s Photoshop application, students create AP works in digital media. The class is designed to teach digital skills that are important in a 2-D Art and Design portfolio, including digital photography, graphic design, digital drawing and digital collage as they investigate their theme for the year.

 

 

Pre-AP Summer Course 

4 Weeks (Meets Twice per Week)

One Time Payment:  $650

Summer 1: July 5 to August 5

Summer 2: August 6 to Sep 6

Experienced College-Board certified instructors provide individual instruction for every student. Consequently, no matter the skill level of the student, each student will progress at his or her own appropriate pace. Students will create works in a variety of media and subject matter.

 

Accelerated AP Art and Design Summer Course

July 5 to September 6:   $1600 

Three times a week

In two months students will complete up to 80% of their AP portfolio;  meeting online with teacher and produce 10 to 12 works of art ( The total complete submission is 15 pieces).  Certified College Board Score raters and college professors will help students to complete their portfolios so that students can focus on other academic subjects when school starts.

 

This course is recommended to students who would take their AP Art and Design Course after summer ends.

If the students would not take AP Course we recommend to take regular AP Art and design course.

Expedited Art and Design Course

College portfolio prep or art supplement for college application

Be prepared by having your AP Sustained Investigation in progress by the start of school!  This 4-week summer course will get you started on the required 15 AP art works and more importantly, your theme that will carry you through the school year.  Choose from:

 

Photoshop as a Drawing Tool: Using iArt’s Photoshop application you will create works using digital media and learn the essentials of Photoshop as they apply to the sustained investigation theme you will develop.

Drawing, Painting, and Mixed Media: Explore, experiment, and refine traditional drawing and painting techniques as they apply to the AP sustained investigation theme you will develop.
